Use this Search Labs companion pack to instrument a search application with OpenTelemetry, send search spans to Elastic, and analyze search reliability, quality, conversions, personalization, and SLO signals with ES|QL.
What is included
- A minimal Python search demo with OpenTelemetry tracing and Elastic Cloud configuration examples.
- ES|QL query files for search analytics, click quality, conversions, personalization, and reliability/SLO analysis.
- Sample product data, index mapping, traffic generator, and setup scripts from the upstream Search Labs companion folder.
Who it helps
This pack is useful for search platform teams that want measurable search quality and reliability signals without starting from a blank telemetry model. It connects product-search behavior to Elastic Observability workflows and gives teams query examples they can adapt to their own traces.
Compatibility
The source README requires Python 3.10+ and an Elastic Cloud deployment with Managed OTLP enabled. It does not declare a single Elastic Stack version, so compatibility is intentionally left unset.
Operational notes
The upstream demo uses environment variables for Elastic credentials and includes local demo code. Review CORS, authentication, and API key scope before exposing anything beyond a controlled lab.
