ServiceNow CMDB topology and health dashboard in Kibana

ServiceNow visibility for Elastic teams

This download gives Elastic users a practical starting point for reviewing ServiceNow CMDB and ITSM data in Kibana. Use it when you want to understand configuration-item relationships, spot incident priority patterns, review upcoming change activity, and give operations teams a shared dashboard view instead of starting from a blank canvas.

The package is useful for platform, SRE, IT operations, and observability teams that already index ServiceNow-style records into Elasticsearch or want a reusable example for building their own ServiceNow dashboards. The saved objects are intentionally focused on dashboards and visualizations, so you can import them, inspect the panel setup, and adapt index/data-view names to your environment.

What is included

  • ServiceNow CMDB Explorer: a Kibana dashboard for exploring CMDB configuration items, category/class distribution, and topology-style relationships.
  • ServiceNow ITSM Operations – Incidents, Changes & People: a Kibana dashboard for incident priority analysis, planned change activity, and operational people/process review.
  • Reusable Kibana visualizations, including a CMDB topology view, CMDB category/class breakdown, incident priority matrix, and change calendar visualization.
  • Two Kibana saved-object NDJSON exports packaged in a ZIP for import through Kibana Saved Objects or the Elastic Content Share deployment flow.

When to use it

Use these dashboards when ServiceNow data is already flowing into Elastic and you need a faster way to review operational context. The CMDB view helps with dependency and inventory conversations, while the ITSM dashboard helps incident and change teams see priority, timing, and ownership patterns in one place.

After import, review the data views, index names, and field mappings expected by each visualization. Most teams will need to align the dashboards with their own ServiceNow ingestion pipeline, field naming conventions, and time range before using them in production.

Compatibility and source

This package was exported from a Kibana 9.4.3 test deployment and contains unmanaged Kibana saved objects. The NDJSON files report a Kibana core migration version of 8.8.0, and the package has been prepared for validation against Elastic Stack 9.4.3.
