Description
The watch you can download checks the availability of services that get observed by Heartbeat. It triggers alerts whenever at least one of your services is down. Heartbeat is a great way to regularly ping your services and check for the response code, content and timing. Its extremely helpful to get high level view on your services.
In addition with the observation of your IT application using Elastic APM it helps to identify issues in near real time and get to the resolution very fast.
The last test was made with v.7.7.1 . This is a watcher which is part of the legacy alerting system of the Elastic Stack. In the more recent version of Elastic you should consider to use Elastic Alerting instead. Its very simple to create alerts for any kind of use case. For the availability check the stack also offers OOTB alerting rules.
